Meet Your Doula

Hi, I'm Varshitha

A certified doula based in Ontario, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with calm, compassionate, and informed care.

My journey into doula work began with a deep curiosity and respect for childbirth and the emotional strength it takes to bring new life into the world. Over time, that curiosity became a calling—supporting families in one of the most transformative moments of their lives.

I am certified in Birth Doula and completed training with DONA International, including breastfeeding and belly binding. I continue learning with evidence-based practices so every family receives thoughtful, informed support.

As a doula, my approach is simple: calm presence, emotional reassurance, and practical support so you feel informed and empowered in your choices.

Beyond doula work, I am a part-time art teacher. I am someone who values family time, art, cooking, and music, which keeps me grounded and connected to the heart of what I do: supporting people with care and empathy.

FAQs

Questions you may have

What does a doula do?

A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, and postpartum. I help you feel informed, reassured, and supported in your choices while offering comfort techniques, encouragement, and guidance throughout your journey.

When should you hire a doula?

You can hire a doula at any stage of pregnancy—even early on or later in the third trimester. The earlier we connect, the more time we have to build trust and prepare together. It's never too late to reach out.

Do you replace my doctor or midwife?

No. I work alongside your medical team as a non-medical support person to help you feel emotionally and physically supported throughout your care.

What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife provides medical care and monitors your and your baby's wellbeing. A doula focuses on emotional support, comfort techniques, and advocacy so you feel supported alongside your medical team.

Do you help me medically?

No. Doulas do not provide medical care, diagnosis, or procedures. I offer comfort measures, education, and emotional support.

Can my partner still be involved if I have a doula?

Absolutely. I support both you and your partner by helping them feel confident and involved while giving them space to rest and participate naturally.

What kind of support do you provide during labour?

During labour, I offer continuous support such as breathing techniques, positioning suggestions, massage, reassurance, and emotional grounding through each stage.

Do you offer postpartum support?

Yes. I provide postpartum support to help with emotional well-being, newborn care guidance, feeding support, and settling into your new routine.

How much does a doula cost?

My services vary by support level. Please contact me for package options that best fit your family.

I'm feeling anxious about birth—can a doula help?

Yes. I provide reassurance, education, and emotional support to help you feel prepared, calm, and confident as birth approaches.
